Welcome to the web site of St. Helen’s Parish Church, in the village of Alveston, South Gloucestershire.
St Helen’s is part of a United Benefice with St. John’s – Elberton and St. Mary de Malmesbury – Littleton upon Severn.
If you’ve visited before you will see a couple of new additions to our site. On the left hand navigation bar at the bottom you will be able to access a download area which, in the coming months will be full of useful resources including forms, photos of our events, video and sound clips. Take a look today and see some examples. There is also a new discussion forum in which members can share and discuss ideas and reactions to all areas of our church life. We have now removed restrictions to the general forum and anyone can post to it without registering first. The forums will all be monitored and moderated. These are challenging times for any church, and St Helen’s is no exception. Our hope is to find ways of worshipping that do more than please our members but also bring inspiration, challenge and comfort to all who come to us for whatever reason. We want to find appropriate ways of communicating our faith, and to use our building as a resource for the whole community. In particular we are committed to working with the young. Through our “Live at St Helen’s” programme we are promoting the performance of live music in the community. If you would like to be placed on a contact list for advance notice of our music events please email us from the link at the bottom of this page. If you have come to this homepage from the Alpha links please use the ‘Groups’ link to the left of this page.
